Women in Golf Charter

Launched by The R&A in 2018 and supported by England Golf, the Women in Golf Charter is designed to:

• Encourage more women and girls to play golf and join clubs
• Promote family-friendly golf as a group leisure activity
• Create more opportunities for women in the golf industry

What is the Aim of Puttenham's Participation?

Upon the launch of this national campaign, Puttenham GC quickly adopted the charter and offered its support. While the Women’s section at Puttenham is the largest it has ever been, thanks to a recent intake of Members, one of the Club’s objectives, in-line with the Women in Golf Charter, is to increase female participation within the sport and specifically grow the Women’s section to 100 Members.

To assist with this aim, although all membership categories are full, should a prospective female member wish to join the Club, they are permitted to avoid the waiting list and join immediately.

Why It Matters?

By aligning with the Women in Golf Charter, Puttenham Golf Club supports a more inclusive future for golf, helping to grow the game, modernise club culture, and inspire more women and girls to enjoy the sport.
